This year in Tolyatti, two popular eateries closed down — the legendary bakery of Timofey Salamatov and the «Korean house». People from all over the city would go to the first for bread. At the second, huge lines formed upon opening, and literally a year later, the place where one could try tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes) and jelly bears suddenly closed.

T-bone steak is a new menu item, priced at about $7 for 100 grams at current rates.

In this review — 5 establishments in Tolyatti that opened relatively recently but have already managed to attract the attention of Tolyatti residents. The establishment called «Turkanutyye» opened, according to open data, in 2023. But it was last year that bloggers started actively promoting it as a trendy and unusual spot. It is located on Voroshilov Street and positions itself as both a restaurant and a confectionery.

Patrons appreciate the straightforward, no-frills approach to classic drinks and snacks.

On the menu — shredded beef with hummus, baked bone marrow, braised duck leg with apple cream. For breakfast, they serve croissants with Kamchatka crab and red caviar. For dessert, they serve colorful sweet bears. They are served impressively: the dessert is brought under a cloche, and upon opening, clouds of white smoke emerge from it.

Large communal tables are a standout feature that draws attention from visitors.

They serve an unusual version of borscht — it is cooked here with cherries. Among the novelties — T-bone and ribeye steaks. The first consists of two parts — filet mignon and strip loin, which changes the texture from tender to denser and more fibrous. The second is cut from the thick edge of the dorsal part and is characterized by pronounced marbling and high juiciness due to intramuscular fat.

— Here, you can brew coffee on sand under the guidance of a barista, and there are days when a 50% discount applies, — the cafe said.

Here, it is important to consider the cost-to-weight ratio of the finished dish. 100 grams of selected beef will cost 700-800 rubles (approx. $7-8 at current rates) per 100 grams of product. Cream of cauliflower soup costs 620 rubles (approx. $6). Oatmeal tiramisu — 370 rubles (approx. $4) per portion.

People in reviews praise the aesthetics and unusual presentation of dishes, but note that the cost is on the high side.

— The presentation looked aesthetic! I attach a photo. Three tartlets with different fillings for drinks. My friend only managed to taste… the tomato, everything else remained mysterious ingredients. Prices are inflated. A portion of porridge for four hundred, I suppose, wouldn«t be spoiled even by an axe from a fairy tale.

— When ordering dishes, pay attention to the weight and price ratio (for example, shakshuka). Prices for some items are inflated, — said the establishment«s guests.

Restaurant «Agni»

Restaurant «Agni» opened on Yubileynaya Street in mid-October last year. This is a new concept from the well-known in Tolyatti «Kakao Mama», but with a vegetarian base. Upon request, you can add meat or fish. Products for the kitchen, as the establishment says, are purchased from local farmers. The establishment has a very noticeable interior with wooden furniture, chandeliers knitted in macrame technique.

A cup of coffee with farm milk will cost 198 rubles (approx. $2). Poached eggs, which are served with fresh vegetables — 412 rubles (approx. $4). From time to time, they organize tea ceremonies. The participation cost — 333 rubles (approx. $3). For 2555 rubles (approx. $26), they will arrange an individual ritual.

People are satisfied with the concept of the establishment, noting that there are few such places in Tolyatti.

— I took a vinaigrette of baked vegetables for 444 rubles (approx. $4) — a taste of childhood, but in a new interpretation. Baked vegetables give aroma and depth of flavor, and the oil — simply magical. «Three Mushrooms» stew (788 rubles, approx. $8) — the most tender mashed potatoes and aromatic white mushrooms, honey mushrooms, and chanterelles in a creamy sauce. Very balanced and hearty. Braised turkey thigh fillet for 399 rubles (approx. $4) — visually interesting, but a bit dry in taste. Here, perhaps, not for the meat. «Agni» — is not about steaks and fried food, but about tasty, balanced, and mindful eating. The design pleases, the kitchen is well-thought-out, the menu inspires.

The main complaints that visitors voiced in their reviews concern the unstable work of the chefs.

— I have been a vegetarian for many years and was very happy about such an establishment. But my friend and I ordered about 8 different dishes from the menu and only liked one. Everything is generally healthy, but not tasty at all. I have been on a healthy diet for a long time and have rich experience in vegetarian dishes. For example, the cabbage was overcooked and dry, the mushrooms clearly lacked sauce. Maybe it«s just not to our taste.

— The first time, the pancakes were fluffy, with barely any trace of oil. All other times they were thin and as if fried in a deep fryer. The same story with the potato pancake. Questions arise about the kitchen. Do all your chefs cook differently? — wrote Tolyatti residents.

Bar «Secret Room»

Secret Room — a cocktail bar in Tolyatti, which opened on 40 Let Pobedy Street in the Avtozavodsky district in November 2025. The establishment positions itself as an intimate space and a platform for live performances simultaneously.

There have already performed violinist from Kazan Elina Makarova, virtuoso pianist Alexander Karpov with jazz improvisations, Tolyatti actor Andrey Amshinsky, who read Yesenin«s poems.

The cultural program in the bar is offered to watch and listen to with signature cocktails, for example, with whiskey, jasmine vermouth, chamomile syrup, and lemon fresh. Or based on bourbon with ice cream and cream.

They also organize routs dedicated to individual drinks and gastro-dinners.

— We held evenings dedicated to eggnog and daiquiri. Eggnog was served as part of a limited set, — informed «Secret Room».

For those who do not want alcoholic drinks, there is an alcohol-free card: teas, lemonades, cocktails. As for snacks, things are not as rosy as visitors would like. The main requests from Tolyatti residents concern food — guests want more of it, heartier.

— When we were there, the kitchen menu wasn«t physically available yet, but the girl said there are snacks.

— Unfortunately, with the presence of quite strong cocktails and shots, one wants a more extensive kitchen, heartier snacks, and a full-fledged, even specialized menu, — responded the townspeople.

Drinking Place «At Tolik»s«

The drinking establishment also opened on 40 Let Pobedy Street. Here, they offer to relax as at home — have a shot and snack on simple dishes. On the menu — ham rolls with cheese and garlic, three types of salo, borsch and shchi, there are sandwiches with sprats, pies, chicken Kiev cutlets, and other familiar fare. For lunches, a 20% discount applies.

— If by lunchtime not only your stomach rumbles, but also your conscience over the money spent — you should go to Tolik, — they said in the establishment.

On the bar menu — signature cocktails and infusions. A portion of mushroom soup costs 250 rubles (approx. $3), potatoes with cracklings — 150 rubles (approx. $2) for 150 grams. A pie with cabbage and egg — 50 rubles (approx. $1) apiece.

From time to time, guests are entertained with shows, for example, by bartenders. In December, Alexey Sablin — co-founder of the non-alcoholic beverage brand «Sips» — visited there.

«At Tolik»s« has been well-received by people, reviews are generally not bad. However, people note that the establishment is mostly liked by those who miss the times of the USSR.

— The cuisine is simple, cooked carefully, but there are questions about the taste. The interior — the Soviet Union in all its glory. Perhaps someone is still haunted by nostalgia for the Soviet era, but for me, this theme has long been overused and not at all attractive. How long can one endlessly suffer for the past, which is 50 years old? While the whole world moves forward, we still lovingly examine sideboards and carpets. There is little new here, alas, — wrote in the Telegram channel «Duty Officer for Tolyatti».

Nomu Izakaya Bar

Nomu Izakaya Bar opened in a new shopping center on Sportivnaya Street, the concept — a mix of Asian traditions with modernity. The interior is stylish — with massive tables and sakura in the middle of the hall.

On the menu — authentic pan-Asian dishes — from rolls and dim sum to woks and ramen. There is, for example, kushiyaki — these are traditional Japanese skewers, threaded on bamboo skewers and grilled. A skewer with shrimp costs 350 rubles (approx. $4). The grill, visitors cook themselves in a separate area. For 2900 rubles (approx. $29) — pork belly, for 3950 rubles (approx. $40) — beef tenderloin of a special grade.

— Every weekday, we have a special offer: from 11:00 to 16:00, you get a 15% discount on the entire menu, — informed Nomu Izakaya Bar.

Townspeople praise the beauty of the establishment«s design, but question the quality of dishes. And not everyone liked the format when meat is fried right inside the room where people eat. Also, not everyone had enough rolls.

— We took creamy ramen (from the new menu, with chicken). The filling seems good, but the broth is terribly oversalted, inside there is a marinated egg, maybe it made the broth so salty.

— It«s great that new restaurants with Japanese themes are appearing. But there weren»t enough Japanese dishes on the menu: there are practically no rolls, hot dishes are more European.

— I can«t stand the smell of cooking in the hall, which makes all clothes smell afterward, — shared the townspeople.
