Grocery shopping continues to disappoint Samara residents. Now, they may have to forgo not only beef but also their favorite morning drink — coffee. Prices for this liquid energy are steadily creeping upward.

This trend affects both instant and bean coffee. According to Samarastat, coffee prices showed the highest increase. Instant coffee, which averaged 2,979 rubles (approx. $33 at current rates) per kilogram, is now sold for 3,390 rubles (approx. $38). Ground and bean coffee rose by almost 300 rubles: from 1,611 rubles (approx. $18) to 1,910 rubles (approx. $21) per kilogram.

Coffee enthusiasts are unlikely to abandon their favorite drink even if prices double.

«In fact, we are seeing price increases. According to market estimates and consumer observations, over the last 2–3 years, many popular brands of ground and bean coffee in supermarkets have become 50–100% more expensive or more.
