Journalist and blogger Yuri Dud* published a new interview featuring Ural comedian Alexander Nezlobin. In the video, he said that after moving to the US, he faced instability and uncertainty.

“I had states of ‘What to do, what next, I can«t see anything.’ Like in a computer game where you need to walk and open up the world. The feeling of stability and horizon was very small,” shared the comedian.

He admitted that at first after the move, he didn«t understand how he and his daughter would manage to live through the next month. But over four years, the difficulties were overcome. According to Alexander, stand-up helped him cope with the crisis: he started writing jokes on painful topics and performing them, including in English.

“And again, also the stability of my daughter — that she started succeeding. Her grades weren«t very good initially. But she improved all that and told us: ‘Enough, leave me alone!’, and now everyone praises her. When I see that she is happy, then I gain stability in that too,” added Nezlobin.

He also said that after emigrating, he sold his apartment in Moscow on Patriarch«s Ponds.

“I had to sell it, just at least to reinvest this money,” said the artist.

According to him, from the sale of the apartment, he managed to get $300,000. Alexander admitted that he wanted to keep the housing in Moscow, but still decided to go through with the deal.

In the interview, the comedian didn«t forget about his native Urals. One of the main locations in the video was Sequoia National Park in California. There, Nezlobin remembered his friend from Polevskoy (in the Ural region) and joked that he would compare the giant sequoias to Ural pines.

The comedian himself doesn«t speak of longing for his hometown and notes that in emigration, he now feels very happy.

“I have had a stable feeling of happiness inside for a couple of years now. I have never been so happy in my life. I am doing what I love, this is influenced by my daughter«s successes, that they (the family — Ed.) have adapted here, that I have become better in my career. I am super happy!” said the comedian about his current life in the states.

Alexander Nezlobin moved to the US in 2022. In a 2023 interview, he talked about childhood in Polevskoy, about his brother who is in prison, about life in the US, and expressed an opinion on the special operation.

In another interview, Nezlobin talked about the difficulties of life in the US. We reported separately on his brother«s case, he is serving a five-year sentence.

Earlier, the Ural comedian defended a stand-up comedian who was banned from living in Russia due to a bad joke.
