A couple from Tyumen spent a long time choosing a tour for their honeymoon. Their only desire was to spend perfect time together in a warm country. They decided to go to Egypt. The flight was scheduled from Yekaterinburg. Spoiler: the seaside vacation was a success, but before that, there was a flight delay by a day, a shortage of hotel rooms, and a visit to the hospital abroad. Read about how the vacation went in this column. Next — in the first person.

Flight Delays

I always dreamed of a honeymoon. And almost right after the registry office, my husband and I were supposed to fly to Egypt. The flight was scheduled for 5 a.m. on 22 September from Yekaterinburg. Already on the train, we were told that the flight was postponed to 8:50 p.m. We arrived at night tired and immediately decided to go to a hotel. My husband spent a long time looking for rooms in nearby hotels, called all the receptions, and he was lucky.

The next day in the evening, we were told again: the flight was postponed to 00:00. My husband extended the room for another day — those were the hotel«s conditions, and we needed to play it safe. I note that the man handled all the issues, I didn»t even think about the problems.

Arriving at the airport, we found out that passengers of our flight were fed for free. They gave us buckwheat with sausage, but water was not provided. As fellow sufferers who came for the flight at 8:00 p.m. told us, they were offered rest rooms for 1300 rubles (about $13 at current rates) per hour! In the end, our flight was postponed to 00:15. And that was the end of it — we flew off to the sea.

Sea, Sea… No, Hospital

After the flight, my husband«s otitis worsened. He couldn»t hear out of one ear. On the first day, we were advised to wait: we hoped it would go away on its own. We assumed his ears were blocked from the plane.

The next day, we decided to go to the hospital, especially since we had paid for insurance. But we were in for a surprise: it turned out that our insurance in Egypt had a deductible, and we had to pay $30 for the doctor«s help. We called the insurance company, reported the problem, and a doctor saw us right at the hotel. They conducted an examination and put in an IV. They gave us pills and ear drops to take with us.

In the evening, my husband went for another appointment. They additionally gave him nose drops. By evening, he felt much better, but we had to give up some activities: swimming in the sea and diving were prohibited.

Dances and International Friendship

Despite all the adventures, the vacation was a success. After Turkey, we realized: we need to make friends right away to have more fun. On the very first day, we formed a group with whom we spent the entire vacation: two guys from Russia, a couple from Kazakhstan, and a family from Armenia. We still keep in touch.

The hotel had many entertainments: parties, a water park, shows, but we still went on excursions. In one day, we managed to ride quad bikes in the desert, ride camels and jeeps, and walk through a canyon. But the main entertainment was at sea — a yacht trip and scuba diving. That was my goal!

After the briefing, I went first. Panic set in when they threw me off the yacht: my brain exploded from the realization that I was breathing underwater. But I managed to calm down and start swimming.

I wanted to dive to the maximum 10 meters, but I didn«t expect such pressure. My ears literally hurt, but clearing them helped. We went down about five meters. It was ecstasy! A huge variety of fish, and surprisingly, at depth they aren»t afraid of people. I even managed to pet them: they«re like kittens there, swimming into your hands on their own.

Conclusion

From the very beginning, my husband said: «Nothing will spoil our vacation.» And that«s how it turned out. We gained new friends, bright photos, and memories. In Egypt, people are very kind: I lost my phone, but it was returned to the bar counter. Many told us that lost items were found.

The hotel grounds featured numerous picturesque spots perfect for capturing vacation memories in photos.

At the market, we managed to bargain, and we brought home many souvenirs and sweets. The return flight was delayed by 15 minutes — already on the plane, it seemed like a small thing after the story of the departure from Yekaterinburg.

Ahead — sorting through photos and getting a refund for unforeseen expenses due to the flight delay.
