Roskomnadzor has indeed blocked the popular anime encyclopedia Shikimori. The agency reported this to MSK1.RU.

Roskomnadzor emphasized that it expects the removal of LGBT* materials aimed at children. Additionally, Roskomnadzor called Shikimori a mirror (a duplicate for circumventing restrictions — Ed.) of another site that has been blocked since 2019.

«The site systematically and purposefully distributes materials promoting non-traditional sexual relations and preferences, child pornography, contributes to arousing sexual feelings towards minors, and also has a destructive influence on children,» MSK1.RU was told by the press service of Roskomnadzor.

Shikimori is a popular online encyclopedia of cartoons and stories in Japanese genres such as anime, manga (comics), and ranobe (light novels for teenagers). The site also has a forum where fans discuss various works.

In early December, for similar reasons, the online game Roblox was blocked. At the beginning of the new year, Roskomnadzor explained how negotiations on unblocking the popular platform are proceeding.
