He faced instability and uncertainty: «I had moments of »What to do, what next, I can«t see anything.» Like in a computer game where you have to walk around and open up the world. The feeling of stability and horizon was very small.«
Over time, the situation improved. Nezlobin admitted that stand-up comedy helped him overcome the crisis — he started writing jokes on sharp topics and performing in English.
His daughter«s successes also contributed to his peace of mind. The comedian said: »And again, there«s also the stability of my daughter — the fact that she started to succeed. Her grades weren»t very good at first. But she pulled it all up and told us: «That»s it, leave me alone!«, and now everyone praises her. When I see that she is happy, then I also gain stability in that.»
For financial stability, Nezlobin sold his apartment in Moscow on Patriarch«s Ponds. He received $300,000 for it. »I had to sell, just to at least reinvest that money,« the artist explained.
In the interview, Nezlobin humorously compared his native Ural town of Polevskoy to California, recalling how a friend might compare giant sequoias to local pine trees.
Despite nostalgia, the comedian declared a deep sense of satisfaction: «I»ve had a stable feeling of happiness inside for a couple of years now. I«ve never been so happy in my life. I»m doing what I love, and this is influenced by my daughter«s successes, that they (the family — Ed.) have adapted here, that I»ve become better in my career. I«m super happy!»
Previously, Nezlobin has shared memories of his childhood in Polevskoy and talked about his brother, who is serving a five-year prison term. The comedian also spoke about the special military operation and defended a colleague who was deprived of the right to live in Russia due to an unsuccessful joke.
