Krasnodar Park builds giant pit with tunnel

The new feature contrasts with other areas in Krasnodar Park’s Park of Clouds zone.
In the Park of Clouds (Krasnodar Park), construction of a new location is underway. It is situated behind the water amphitheater, which is also compared to a canyon.
At first glance, it is a large space resembling a karst sinkhole, with outcrops like rock formations. Some upper ledges will be planted with trees and shrubs. On the other hand, it also evokes a dystopian, urbanist design.
Similar sights occur in nature. For example, Northern Ireland’s «Giant’s Causeway» has basalt columns. They were formed by uneven cooling and erosion.

Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway features similar polygonal columns formed by ancient basalt flows.
Apparently, a tunnel will lead into the pit, with the entrance located nearby. Above it there is also a staircase leading to the location. The «pit» can be viewed both from above (a path with flights of stairs encircles the hole’s «rim») and from the «bottom».
The completion timeline for the new location has not been announced yet, nor its future name.
