Dina Averina Asked Mother Where She Would Find a Husband

This summer, famous gymnast Dina Averina married Dmitry Solovyov — a figure skater and Olympic champion. The couple met on the set of the show «Ice Age». In an interview with the magazine «Atmosphere», the athletes talked about how their relationship developed and what captivated them about each other.
Dina said that at the time of participating in the show, she knew little about the figure skater, and they had crossed paths a few times at sports competitions. The gymnast assumed that Dmitry would be a demanding and strict mentor, but in the end, the training sessions were positive.
The athlete added that she often thought about what her future chosen one would be like. And, looking at her parents, she always wanted a large family.
“Even as an athlete, I dreamed of how I would get a boyfriend and we would have our own large and friendly family. By the end of my career, I realized that it«s not all that simple, I asked my mom where I would ever find a man with whom I could spend my whole life. It»s also hard for me in principle to be in close contact with someone for a long time,” Dina said.
According to Solovyov, their feelings did not appear immediately. At first, he felt respect for Dina as an athlete and human sympathy. Gradually, they started communicating more closely and sharing personal stories.
Dina admitted that she was won over by Dmitry«s care: he worried when she got injured during training and cut her chin.
“Even before the chin incident, we fell hard, and I hit my elbow and head, and I had to fly to a master class the next day. And Dima sent a message in the evening asking about my elbow, then during the day, advising me to rest. I was surprised: I«m used to taking care of myself,” Averina said.
The athlete was afraid to make the first move and waited for Dmitry to confess his feelings first.
“I liked Dima, I carefully asked if we would see each other after the project ended. I was afraid of rejection, waited for him to confess first, and breathed a sigh of relief when it finally happened,” Dina recalls.
Later, they met each other«s parents, and on Valentine»s Day, Solovyov proposed to Dina. In the summer, the couple had a wedding.
At the celebration, her twin sister Arina Averina was with her beloved — European figure skating champion Dmitry Aliev. At the wedding, the girl caught the bride«s bouquet.
