Dangerous Taxis, Trained Tigers, and Baobabs: A Barnaul Woman's Madagascar Journey — Video
Yana Yefremenko, a traveler from Barnaul, has been working in tourism for over 20 years. For the past three years, she has been creating unusual custom tours and gathering a group of like-minded people who want to spend their vacation in an extraordinary way. In the video, she told NGS22.RU about her trip to Madagascar and Mauritius and why swimming with whales and interacting with lemurs is not so easy to organize.
Madagascar is the world«s largest country that occupies an entire island in the Indian Ocean and is known to many thanks to the eponymous cartoon. Its capital is Antananarivo, and the population of the entire island is 28.2 million people.
The Barnaul adventure enthusiast had to plan her Madagascar tour six months in advance, involving local guides. Getting there also required several layovers, via Dubai. One of the first planned activities was a trip to a national park home to lemurs. According to her, even those who admitted they don«t like animals were thrilled by this encounter.

Yana«s trip involved close encounters with wildlife and required careful planning with local guides.
— They are so different: some have softer fur, some have coarser fur, their personalities are completely different. Live interaction with them gave me immense pleasure.
During her stay on the islands, Yana managed to swim with whales in the open ocean and even pet lions. About the difficulties the tourists faced and why they are only allowed to approach trained animals with sticks — read in our article.
