Yekaterinburg to Build 1,500-Student Super School in Elite District

The new school in the Shchorsa-Mashinnoy quarter (near Mayakovsky Park) will open its doors to children in September 2026. E1.RU was told this by acting first deputy mayor of Yekaterinburg Rustam Galyamov. According to plans, the building was supposed to be commissioned much later.

«The contractual completion date was set for 2027, but we want to hand over the facility in August 2026. The school is currently at a fairly high stage of readiness, and the builders have no problems. We have been supported by the governor and the federal Ministry of Education. Funding was shifted (allocated ahead of schedule. — Ed.)», clarified Rustam Galyamov.

The area of the new school will be almost 33,000 square meters. The building is divided into three blocks — for students of different ages.

The institution will be equipped with modern classrooms, an assembly hall and four sports halls, as well as a football field, a running track, and basketball and volleyball courts. The school windows will offer a view of the Iset River with its landscaped embankment.

The school is of great importance because new residential quarters («Clover Park», «Champion Park») are being built nearby.

As of today, in Yekaterinburg, 5 educational facilities are at various stages of construction. Two contracts for the construction of schools, each with over 2,000 places, were recently signed in the Solnechny microdistrict and Akademichesky district.

In the Novokoltsovsky microdistrict, a kindergarten for 250 places is under construction, which is planned to open in August of this year. The construction of a school is also being designed. At the same time, the «Art-Etyud» gymnasium is being built, which will be commissioned in 2027. An extension to School No. 208 is under construction. In the near future, builders will begin constructing a main building for 400 places and a kindergarten for 180 places.

Recall that preparation of the construction site for the school near Mayakovsky Park began back in the summer of 2024. Before work began, there was a car park where visitors to the Central Park of Culture and Leisure parked.
