Russian schools are set to fully transition to unified state textbooks. This is planned to happen within three to four years. This statement was made by Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov at the XXXIV International Christmas Educational Readings.

“We plan to transition to unified state textbooks for school subjects within three to four years,” TASS quotes him.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education stated that they plan to introduce unified textbooks for all subjects by 2032. These will be mandatory for use in all Russian schools. Each program is designed for several years of study. For example, for physical education, a textbook will be created for grades 1–11, and for foreign language—for grades 2–11. We also reported on the geography textbook, which children will study from 5th to 11th grade.

Kravtsov also reminded that starting from September 1, 2026, students will begin receiving grades for behavior. The new rules are intended to improve student discipline.

The system has already sparked debates among parents and psychologists. More details on all the pros and cons of the innovation were discussed in this article.
