School closure declared for some Yugra students on January 26

Due to freezing weather, students in grades 1-8 on the second shift will not attend school on January 26.

Several cities in the Khanty-Mansi region have canceled school for younger grades due to temperatures dropping to -30°C.

In Yugra (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), on the afternoon of January 26, a day off has been declared for schoolchildren of the second shift. Thus, due to low air temperature, classes are canceled for students:

  • Surgut – grades 1-4;
  • Nizhnevartovsk – grades 1-8;
  • Kogalym – grades 1-4;
  • Langepas – grades 1-8;
  • Raduzhny – grades 1-8;
  • Megion – grades 1-8;
  • Pokachi – grades 1-4.

Also, a day off has been declared in settlements of the Berezovsky, Nizhnevartovsky, and Oktyabrsky districts of Yugra.

At the time of the announcement, the air temperature in cities and settlements was at -26 to -30 degrees Celsius (-15 to -22°F). This is reported by the website «Gosuslugi.My Yugra».

Earlier we wrote that high school students of KhMAO (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug) complained to Elena Mizulina about the absence of days off during severe frost, and also that they are freezing in class.
