Novosibirsk school deputy principal punished for unauthorized toilet cameras
The principal had stated the cameras were placed at the toilet entrance, not inside the facility itself.
In Novosibirsk, the deputy principal of school No. 87 has been punished for cameras in a toilet. He has been held disciplinarily liable.
As reported by the prosecutor«s office of the Novosibirsk region, after the publication of information about the installation of video cameras in the school toilet, employees conducted an inspection. The prosecutor established that they were placed without the consent of the children and their legal representatives.
«The processing of citizens» personal data must be carried out in compliance with a number of conditions and requires special attention, including the adoption of additional measures to ensure the protection of the process of collection, processing and storage of personal data,« the prosecutor»s office said.
The school«s principal was issued an official reprimand, and as a result, the deputy principal for administrative and economic affairs was held disciplinarily liable. The violation has been rectified.
NGS attempted to contact the school principal, Vera Golikova; at the time of publication, she was not at her workplace. Earlier, the principal reported that the cameras were installed due to cases of vandalism, and that they were located not in the toilet itself, but at the entrance to it.
Earlier, NGS wrote that in school No. 90, a surveillance camera was installed in the women«s toilet.
