Murmansk Administration Lists Schools Open on Monday

Schools, gymnasiums, and kindergartens in the city's Pervomaysky District and Roslyakovo residential area will operate normally.

On the evening of 23 January, a mass power outage occurred in Murmansk and Severomorsk. The cause was the collapse of power line pylons. The accident left residents without heating and electricity, and street lights were turned off. The Murmansk administration has announced how schools will operate on 26 January.

— Schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, and kindergartens in the Pervomaysky District of our city and in the Roslyakovo residential area will operate as usual tomorrow, — Murmansk Mayor Ivan Lebedev said.

Information for the Leninsky and Oktyabrsky districts will be announced by the city administration shortly.

Recall that due to the power line failure at «Rosseti Severo-Zapad» (North-West Grid Company), temporary changes will occur in the operations of medical organizations in the Murmansk region tomorrow, 26 January.

Murmansk residents were also urged to leave for work earlier, with additional buses on some routes.

A criminal case has been initiated. It was revealed that the collapsed power line pylons had been in service for almost 60 years.
