In one of the secondary schools in southern Volgograd, lessons and breaks have been shortened since the beginning of the week due to heating issues, according to a complaint from an anonymous parent. Although lessons have not been canceled, the complainant claims that about half of the parents have refused to send their children to school.
This concerns Municipal Educational Institution Secondary School No. 134 «Darovanie». The man who reported the problem says that in the labor classroom, for example, children were freezing even in outerwear — it was so cold there.
«The child says it was as cold as outside. On Friday, they allowed attendance at lessons voluntarily, but today no one canceled them. They only said to dress warmer and bring blankets,» he added.
The school principal confirmed that there are indeed heating problems. However, she clarified that it was not cold in all classrooms.
«On the first floor, yes, it was cool. We are not having them change shoes now, lessons are shortened. I asked in the elementary classes to do five-minute warm-ups so that the children warm up. Today plumbers came, tried to start it, but they can»t do something: the supply is hot, but the «return» line is cold. Well, if it«s not resolved by tomorrow, then lessons will also be shortened,» the principal said.
However, the press service of «Koncessii Teplosnabzheniya» (Heat Supply Concessions) stated that there are no problems with the heating supply to the school building.
«From »Koncessii Teplosnabzheniya«, the resource is supplied in full volume to this address. No reports of lack of heating have been received, and no work has been conducted,» they said.
The editorial office of V1.RU asked the press service of the Volgograd administration to comment on the situation at School No. 134.
