A blackout continues in Murmansk Oblast, leading to adjusted operating schedules for schools and kindergartens in Leninsky District. Some institutions will continue operating normally, others are temporarily switching to remote learning, and a number of kindergartens are suspending operations — children will be offered places in alternative preschools.

Operating Normally

  • School No. 5 (Aleksandrova St., 32/2);

  • Gymnasium No. 3 (Turistov St., 34a; Chelyuskintsev St., 14);

  • MAL (Askoldovtsev St., 9/22);

  • Gymnasium No. 9 (M. Ivchenko Lane, 15; Heroes-Severomortsy Ave., 76, bldg. 3; Admiral Flota Lobova St., 9, bldg. 6);

  • Kindergarten No. 34 (Heroes-Severomortsy St., 9/3);

  • Kindergarten No. 139 (Poliny Osipenko St., 12);

  • Kindergarten No. 73 (Gagarin St., 10; Sverdlova St., 46);

  • Kindergarten No. 91 (Khalatina St., 6);

  • Kindergarten No. 104 (Askoldovtsev St., 14 and 30/3; Chumbarova-Luchinskogo St., 22).

Switching to Remote Learning

  • School No. 57 (Safonova St., 11 and 37);

  • School No. 11 (Magometa Gadzhieva St., 6a; Pavlika Morozova St., 3a; Mironova St., 5);

  • School No. 45 (Chumbarova-Luchinskogo St., 3b; Khalatina St., 17).

Kindergartens Temporarily Closed

Children will be offered places in other kindergartens:

  • Kindergarten No. 4 (A. Nevskogo St., 77 and 85a; Chumbarova-Luchinskogo St., 77);

  • Kindergarten No. 34 (Karl Liebknecht St., 23a; Chelyuskintsev St., 26a and 28a);

  • Kindergarten No. 139 (Naberezhnaya St., 3A; Rostinskaya St., 4; Heroes-Severomortsy Ave., 78/5; Lobova St., 13);

  • Kindergarten No. 73 (Pavlika Morozova St., 5; Gagarin St., 9/1; Sverdlova St., 26/3 and 4);

  • Kindergarten No. 85 (Gadzhieva St., 10a and 14a; Mikhail Ivchenko Ave., 11);

  • Kindergarten No. 91 (Gadzhieva St., 7a; Heroes-Severomortsy Ave., 43a).

Recall that in Severomorsk on 26 January, all kindergartens will work normally. However, educational institutions in Murmansk are switching to remote learning; we reported on who will be affected by the changes.

The administration of Murmansk reported on the schools that will be open on Monday.

Due to an accident on the power lines of «Rosseti North-West» tomorrow, 26 January, temporary changes will occur in the operation of medical organizations in Murmansk Oblast.

Also, Murmansk residents were urged to leave for work earlier, with additional buses on some routes.

A state of emergency has been declared in Murmansk Oblast. The prosecutor«s office of Murmansk Oblast has already launched an investigation due to mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated. It was found that the fallen power line pylons had been in service for almost 60 years.
