Yakutia allocates 8.5 million rubles for head's salary in 2026
The budget of Yakutia for 2026 has allocated 8.5 million rubles (approx. $85,000 at current rates) for the salary of the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev. The amount is accounted for in the adopted law «On the State Budget of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2026 and for the planning period of 2027 and 2028.»
Per month, Aisen Nikolaev will earn 716 thousand rubles (approx. $7,200). His salary was the same in 2025. Meanwhile, 40 million rubles (approx. $400,000) have been allocated for his business trips—special flights—in 2026, with 5 million rubles (approx. $50,000) each allocated for 2027 and 2028.
For comparison, the republic«s budget allocated slightly less for the salary of the Chairman of the Il Tumen (regional parliament), Alexey Yeremeyev—6.7 million rubles (approx. $67,000), or 555 thousand rubles (approx. $5,600) per month.
In total, 181.2 million rubles (approx. $1.81 million) have been allocated for the maintenance of the Yakutia head«s office in 2026. This sum includes salaries for staff, and the purchase of goods, works, and services necessary for the activities of the republic»s highest official. The total volume of Yakutia«s budget expenditures in 2026 will amount to 349.8 billion rubles (approx. $3.5 billion).
