«Prices in the Samara Region in December 2025 increased by 0.30% compared to November. Annual inflation in the region slowed down and amounted to 7.07%. This is higher than the national average (5.59%),» the Bank of Russia reported.

In December, food prices rose the most, while the prices of services changed minimally. And still: the annual increase turned out to be higher than inflation.

«Non-food goods rose in price moderately over the month, and over the year — significantly less than the consumer basket as a whole,» analysts noted.

Fresh cucumbers rose noticeably in price, as demand for them increased before the New Year holidays.

«Greenhouse farms took advantage of this and passed on the accumulated costs of heating and lighting to the prices. The cost of vegetables had been falling from May to August, and overall for the year they became cheaper by 16.18%,» explained representatives of the Bank of Russia.

Cheese prices soared.

«This is explained by the increase in producers» costs for raw materials, packaging, and labor. Over the past 12 months, prices for this product have mostly been rising, so overall for the year cheese became significantly more expensive (by 10.16%),« analysts explained.

Public catering also became more expensive.

«The attendance of cafes and restaurants increased in the pre-New Year period. This allowed catering enterprises to raise prices for their products to compensate for the increased costs of purchasing products, renting premises, and paying staff. Over the year, public catering became more expensive by 13.62%,» the Bank of Russia reported.

And sugar continued to become cheaper due to a good beet harvest.

«Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 5.59% in December 2025 from 6.64% in November. The rise in prices in the last month of the year was low and annualized amounted to 2.6%. To make inflation sustainably low, the Bank of Russia will maintain high interest rates in the economy. According to the forecast, in 2026 inflation will drop to 4–5% and stabilize near 4% in the future,» analysts explained.

And the editorial office of 63.RU carefully studied the report of SamaraStat and found out what actually became more expensive the most in the region.
