In Murmansk, the first city council meeting of 2026 took place. One of the key agenda items was financial support for teachers and medical workers employed in the education system.
As explained by the city council chairman Igor Morar, currently employees in these categories receive an annual payment equal to one monthly salary. However, authorities propose to revise the approach: instead of tying it to salary, establish a fixed sum — 20,000 rubles (approximately $200 at current rates) per year.
