Murmansk gets federal funds for pool renovation and power grid upgrade

Murmansk Oblast will receive additional federal financing within a separate limit for the implementation of master plans. This was announced by Governor Andrey Chibis.
— The Government Commission on Regional Development, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin, has approved Murmansk Oblast«s application for treasury infrastructure loans for projects important to the region, — he said.
The additional funds will be directed to several projects. The first is a major overhaul of the central pool in Murmansk. Design documentation has been developed and is undergoing examination; work will begin this year. As Chibis announced at his press conference, the pool«s reconstruction will be completed by the end of 2027. He also explained why it had to be closed.
The second project is the modernization of Murmansk«s main power supply line. This will increase its reliability and allow for the connection of new consumers, including the MAU student campus, Chibis noted. It was previously reported what exactly will appear at Murmansk University.
In addition, the additional funding will go towards connecting the residential complex «GloraX Kolyasky» in Malaya Dolina Uyuta to the power supply networks. The project will be fully equipped with engineering infrastructure, which will also allow for the updating of city networks.
