Meat prices up, butter down in Udmurtia over year

Almost the first month of 2026 has come to an end. It«s time to compare food prices. Let»s find out how much meat, dairy, and baby food have become more expensive in Udmurtia over the year.
For comparison, we took data from Udmurtstat (the statistical agency of Udmurtia) reports for January 20, 2025 and January 19, 2026. During this period, the price of all types of meat and meat products increased. Lamb became the most expensive — up to 753.40 rubles/kg (approximately $8 at current rates) (+77.32 rubles, or +11.44%). Beef price increased by 63.93 rubles, or 10.32%. In January 2026, it costs on average 683.70 rubles/kg (approximately $8 at current rates) (excluding boneless meat). Pork took third place in price increase. It is sold on average for 371.90 rubles/kg (approximately $4 at current rates) (+19.95 rubles, or +5.67%). Chicken price changed the least — up to 199.20 rubles/kg (approximately $2 at current rates) (+1.10 rubles, or +0.56%).
Moreover, over the year in Udmurtia, sausage products became more expensive:
- Sausages and frankfurters — up to 511.10 rubles/kg (approximately $6 at current rates) (+9.20 rubles, or +1.83%);
- Semi-smoked and cooked-smoked sausage — up to 660.30 rubles/kg (approximately $7 at current rates) (+62.51 rubles, or +10.46%);
- Cooked sausage — up to 520.10 rubles/kg (approximately $6 at current rates) (+43.53 rubles, or +9.13%).
The price of frozen whole fish also increased — up to 310.50 rubles/kg (approximately $3 at current rates) (+31.13 rubles, or +11.14%). Canned vegetable baby food became more expensive by 63.16 rubles, or 9.94% — up to 698.60 rubles/kg (approximately $8 at current rates).
Prices for dairy products also changed. For example, cheeses in Udmurtia on average became more expensive by 61.24 rubles, or 6.99%. In January 2026, in the republic«s stores, they are sold on average for 938.00 rubles/kg (approximately $10 at current rates). Baby milk formula also became more expensive — up to 1260.70 rubles/kg (approximately $14 at current rates) (+109.22 rubles, or +9.49%). However, butter, on the contrary, became cheaper. The price fell by 113.10 rubles, or 10.09% — to 1008.10 rubles/kg (approximately $11 at current rates).
