The Berezovaya River flows through Kislovodsk. Locals noticed that the water has become noticeably cloudy, but the head of the resort city quickly reassured everyone by naming the cause.
Mayor Yevgeny Moiseyev reported on his social media that Rosseti is carrying out scheduled work. Specialists are laying an underground electric cable to the multifunctional center «Russia».
«The cause of the cloudiness is the ingress of clay suspension into the watercourse during earthworks. These are not waste or chemicals,» the mayor noted.
He also emphasized that the contractors have been instructed to prevent soil from entering the river and to comply with environmental requirements. The authorities are monitoring the situation.
Recall that recently in Kislovodsk, residents of several dozen houses were left without heating. The city shut down the boiler house «Zamkovaya, 72». The reason is increased system feed and a possible coolant leak. The central heating shutdown affected 24 apartment buildings at once.
