Company faces fine for polluting boiler near Chita

A construction company in Transbaikalia could be penalized after environmental inspectors confirmed air pollution from its boiler house, following reports through a digital complaint system.

LLC «MetallstroyMontazh» in the village of Smolenka, Chita District, Transbaikal Territory, faces a fine of 100,000 rubles (about $1,100 at current rates) for air pollution from a boiler house. This was reported on January 20 in the Telegram channel of the region«s Ministry of Natural Resources.

«Ecobot Transbaikalia» @ecobot_75_bot was launched in the region in November 2025. The system allows recording cases of atmospheric air pollution and untimely garbage removal. To submit a complaint, it is enough to send a message in photo or video format, indicating the address and a brief description.

Inspectors of the regional environmental supervision recorded the fact of dusting — pollution of atmospheric air in the territory adjacent to the boiler house organization.

«An on-site inspection was conducted based on citizens» appeals to the «Ecobot» system. The inspection materials regarding dusting on the territory adjacent to the boiler house in the Blagodatny microdistrict of Smolenka will be sent to Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) for taking measures within their competence,« the words of inspectors from the regional environmental supervision were cited in the channel.

Violators face an administrative fine under Article 8.1 and Part 3 of Article 8.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation up to 100,000 rubles (about $1,100 at current rates) or suspension of activities for 90 days.

According to the «Kontur.Fokus» system, LLC «MetallstroyMontazh» is registered in Ulety (in the Transbaikal Territory). The company is managed and owned by Matvey Byankin. The main type of activity is production of sanitary-technical works, installation of heating systems and air conditioning systems.
