During the work week, an extensive program of cultural, leisure, and sporting events is planned in Ulyanovsk, the city administration reported.

From 26 to 29 January, district competitions and the city final of the «Leather Ball — School Sports League» tournament (0+) will be held at the FOK (Fitness and Recreation Center) «Favorit» and «Novoe Pokolenie».

On 27 January at 13:00, the regional boxing championship (0+) will open at the Lipatov Sports School.

From 27 to 31 January, the IV art marathon «The Artist»s Path« (0+) will be held at the specialized Children»s Library No. 28 named after Plastov. The event is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the library being named after the outstanding painter Arkady Plastov and the 133rd anniversary of his birth.

On 29 January, a mini-course for teachers, «Graphic Design — a New Direction in Additional Education» (0+), will be held at Children«s Creativity Center No. 5.

Children«s Art School No. 10 invites you to the first All-Russian festival-competition »From Do to Si« (referring to musical notes), dedicated to the works of Mozart, Shostakovich, and Prokofiev (0+). Auditions in the »vocal« category will be held on 30 January, and on 31 January for »piano«.

On 30 January at 15:00, the district youth masquerade ball «The Secret of the Mask» (6+), dedicated to Russian Student Day, will be held in the parquet hall of the 1 May Palace of Culture.

Also on 30 January, the GTO (Ready for Labour and Defence) festival for senior citizens (0+) will be held at the «Spartak» athletics arena.

On 31 January at 10:00, the regional championship and competition in Kyokushin (a style of karate) (0+) will start at the FOK «Favorit».
