Sergei Bezrukov awarded 203k rubles in mask lawsuit

In autumn 2025, an entrepreneur from Belgorod decided to capitalize on Russians« affection for actor Sergei Bezrukov. She released carnival masks with the star»s face for sale on well-known marketplaces. The star did not appreciate such an affront.

Sergei Bezrukov filed a lawsuit against the entrepreneur from the Chernozem region, demanding the removal of masks with his face from sale and compensation of 500 thousand rubles ($5,000) — 250 thousand ($2,500) for the illegal use of his photograph and 250 thousand ($2,500) for the illegal use of his personal data, as the masks were listed with the actor«s name. Once the lawsuit was filed, the masks disappeared from sale.

The Khamovniki District Court of Moscow partially upheld actor Sergei Bezrukov«s lawsuit against the Belgorod businesswoman, according to the united press service of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction. The court ordered the removal of Bezrukov»s personal data — his name, surname, and image — from sale listings and awarded him 203 thousand rubles ($2,000) from the entrepreneur.
