Samara Drama Theater Appoints New Director

The Maxim Gorky Samara Academic Drama Theater shared joyful news. Oleg Skivko has joined the company. He has been appointed as a first-category director.

A first-category theatrical director is a qualified specialist with a higher professional education and at least three years of experience in the second category. They independently stage complex dramatic or musical performances, are responsible for the creative process, interpretation of material, rehearsals, and work with actors.
Oleg Anatolyevich Skivko was born on September 18, 1969. He graduated from the Samara State Institute of Culture and is a graduate of Alexander Zolotukhin«s course.
In 1999, Skivko staged the mono-play «Until the Third Rooster» based on the works of Vasily Shukshin. The main role was performed by Oleg Belov. The production was loved not only by audiences but also by critics: the play received many awards at various international festivals.
On November 6, 2006, the Samara theater «Actors» House« at the local branch of the STD (Union of Theater Workers) opened with Oleg Skivko»s play «Skonapel Istuar.» Oleg Anatolyevich also served at the Yaroslavl Youth Theater, the Volgograd Musical and Drama Cossack Theater, the Maxim Gorky Samara Academic Drama Theater, «SamArt,» the «Koleso» (Wheel) drama theater in Tolyatti, and the Samara «Vitrazhi» (Stained Glass) theater. In Moscow, the director staged a mono-play with the leading actress of the Maly Theater, People«s Artist of Russia Elena Kharitonova, titled »How a Play is Staged« by Karel Čapek.

Yuri Pronichev has been serving as the acting director of the drama theater since November 2024.
