It has been revealed at what stage the reconstruction project for the Mayakovsky Cinema is. At the beginning of last year, plans were made to add a two-story glass extension to the back of the building and to place four halls with 60-70 seats each, along with cafes and restaurants. The improvement of the square near the cinema was also discussed.

It turned out that the projects have been approved, but work cannot start because the client has put them on pause. This was told to NGS55.RU correspondent by the author of the projects and director of the Omsk company «Artès» Arthur Obturov.

‘They have been approved, but are on pause for now. I don’t know the reasons; one needs to [contact] the client.’

The reconstruction of the Mayakovsky was intended to attract more visitors to the cinema.

Earlier, NGS55.RU reported that in Omsk, a project to update the Tukhachevsky Embankment was approved. There will appear separate lanes for cycling and rollerblading, spacious walking zones, and parking spaces.
