The press service of Dedmorozim announced the pre-release screening of the film «Here Was Yura» (18+). After watching the film, viewers will discuss it with the fund«s director Nadezhda Li, director Sergey Malkin, and one of the film»s main characters, Kuzma Kotrelyov.

«Here Was Yura» is Sergey Malkin«s debut feature film. The picture received the grand prix at the Russian film festival »Mayak-2025«, and Konstantin Khabensky, who played Yura, was awarded the prize for best male role.

The film depicts the story of 30-year-olds Oleg and Seryoga. They live in a communal flat and dream of becoming rock stars. On the eve of an important performance, they take on responsibility for the uncle of one of the heroes. The relative is named Yura, he is 50 years old, and has mental disabilities. Oleg and Seryoga must learn to understand Uncle Yura because he thinks and feels differently, not like everyone else.

«The screenplay is written based on events from the author»s life,« says fund director Nadezhda Li. »Such stories happen in many homes in Perm. For example, in our future apartments, where graduates of orphanages live. Each of them speaks their own language and wants to be heard, but encounters a world that is not always ready to understand them. Companions become guides to independent life for these kids. And we want to share this experience.«

During the discussion of the film with Dedmorozim fund director Nadezhda Li, it will be possible to talk about helping people with disabilities and the experience of working with companions.

The fund shared a short story of one of its employees. Marina helps people like the character played by Konstantin Khabensky. She trained as a psychologist, worked in a correctional school, then in an orphanage, and for the last four years has been working as a companion at the fund. One of her charges is Dima with Down syndrome. He does not speak, and to understand him, Marina learned sign language and alternative communication.

The Dedmorozim press service added that children with health disabilities grow up and do not stop needing help, even as adults. To support the companions, the fund opened a fundraiser to pay for their work.

Pre-release screenings will take place on 22 January at the Perm Cinematheque:

  • The first session will begin at 18:30 in hall No. 2;

  • The second session will begin at 19:00 in hall No. 1.

Earlier we reported about the Perm fund«s opening of a fundraiser for nannies for seriously ill children.
