The Evenki are an indigenous people of Eastern Siberia. They most often live in Irkutsk Oblast, the Republic of Buryatia, and the Transbaikal region. Traditionally, they have been engaged in reindeer herding.

‘Audiences will be invited to participate in workshops, see traditional Evenki crafts, and listen to compositions about their lives. Before the festival, film screenings on the theme of Evenki daily life and history will be held in the park; the dates for these will be announced later,’ the message states.

The «Giravun» festival will be held for the third time; it was first held at the Sukhotino Ethno-Archeopark in 2024, when it gathered over a thousand participants.

In 2025, the indigenous peoples« holiday was opened with the Evenki song »Odyora« and a traditional fire ritual was conducted. Visitors also enjoyed tea made from chaga (a fungus growing on birch trees) and tried their hand at the national sport — throwing the maut (a lasso used for catching reindeer).

Information about the festival can be followed on the ethno-archeopark«s Telegram channel.
