Siberian man to stand trial for attempted murder of mother and her daughters

Investigators have completed work on the case of an attempt on the life of a mother from the Kupinsky District and her three daughters. The perpetrator of the arson, in which the woman and her three children only miraculously survived, is believed to be the victim«s former lover. This information was published today on the official Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee (SK) for the Novosibirsk Region.
The crime was committed on 10 September 2025. As previously reported by NGS, a 69-year-old resident of the village of Zyatkovka, Valery Bridigin, was suspected. The man had previously lived with the victim, but then started drinking, and the woman threw him out of the house. According to the investigation, angered by his former lover, Bridigin decided to kill both her and her children.
«He doused it with gasoline and set fire to the entrance door of the house, in which four people were sleeping, including two young children and one minor child, after which he left the crime scene,» the Investigative Committee said.
As NGS reported from the victim, Anna, a resident of Zyatkovka (her surname is known to the editorial office), initially they had a wonderful relationship with Valery. The man treated her children warmly and cared for his beloved. The age difference did not bother the couple, unlike Valery«s growing love for alcohol.
«At first he was normal, treated us well, loved the children. <…> But then he started drinking with my parents. Gradually more and more, and in this last year he began drinking heavily and becoming violent,» Anna complained to journalists. «He tried to kill me deliberately twice: one time — this one. Another was when we were in the car, and he deliberately crashed into another car, and there was another time when he swung a sledgehammer at me and smashed the television.»
The suspected arsonist was found almost immediately and detained right away. Investigators initiated a criminal case for attempted murder of two or more persons (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and attempted arson (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and have already finished dealing with the materials. The court will soon begin to examine them.
Earlier, NGS wrote about a suspected murderer of two girls who committed the crimes back in the 1990s. He moved to another region, but that did not prevent investigators from finding him.
