Ryazan Resident Steals Air Gun, Tries to Hide It with Relative

A pneumatic weapon, modeled after a Kalashnikov assault rifle, was stolen from a store in Ryazan. The outlet in the shopping center was closed the day before, but the perpetrator, presumably, simply leaned over the display case to commit the theft. In the morning, an employee noticed the loss, according to the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD).

Witnesses reported that on the previous evening, they saw a man with an air gun in his hands. Based on the description, police officers identified a 22-year-old resident of Ryazan — he may have been drunk at the time of the crime, law enforcement officials believe.

Preliminary information suggests that before the theft, the young man was playing a «shooter» game in an arcade, and when he ran out of money and had to leave, he saw a non-virtual gun in the retail outlet and decided to steal it. No effort was required: the suspect simply leaned over the display case and went home.

That same evening, the Ryazan resident decided to hide the gun in a relative«s car. But the weapon was found anyway.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under the article «Theft». The young man faces up to five years in a penal colony.
