Not a shred of mercy in Yekaterinburg store beating and body delivery to police

One of the most appalling stories in Yekaterinburg last year was the beating of a defenseless man by security guards at a Monetka store on Pekhotintsev Street. The private guards beat, kicked, and choked the man so severely that they ultimately beat him to death. Now, the editorial staff of E1.RU has obtained new footage from the body cameras of Rosgvardia officers who delivered the body of 33-year-old Nikolai to the police station.

The footage captures a moment when the man is still alive but lying unconscious. The question of whether he lives or dies is decided in a brief dialogue. Guards from the Rapid Response Group (RRG) Delta and Rosgvardia officers lean over Nikolai. A private security guard repeatedly suggests calling an ambulance, but the Rosgvardia officer decides the unconscious man is fine and drags him to the vehicle.

The last chance to save him
Rosgvardia Officer 1 (R1). He hasn«t kicked the bucket, has he?
Rosgvardia Officer 2 (R2). Well, let«s go.
Rapid Response Group (RRG): Having fun? (addressing the unconscious Nikolai). What, feeling better? Wow, he«s cold.
R1. So he«s gone... Ah, no.
RRG. Let him breathe.
R2. Yeah, let him breathe.
RRG. It«s unclear what»s wrong with him?
R2. He«s fine, just tired.
R1. He has a pulse.
R2. Alright, let«s go.
RRG. Call an ambulance. We really need an ambulance urgently here. Let the ambulance take a look.
R2. He«s fine.
R1. We«ll take him there and call one.
RRG. Help with his legs?
R2. If you«re so worried about him (laughter)...
Also, one of the Rosgvardia officers suggests throwing the unconscious man into the trunk, but the others stop him.
«Rosgvardia, you could say, finished my brother off. They should have called an ambulance and transported him very carefully so his neck wouldn»t move. But they grabbed him like a sack of potatoes and threw him into the car, even wanted him in the trunk,« says the victim»s sister.
She intends to seek accountability for the security forces for failing to call an ambulance for the dying man and instead taking him to the station.
The cause of Nikolai«s death was hypoxia resulting from a concussion of the cervical spine. This could have occurred after kicks or blows with a stick, or stomping on his head and neck. He also had broken ribs.
How Nikolai was beaten
It all happened on the night of November 7, 2025 at the Monetka store on Pekhotintsev, 7a. For several hours, guards from the private security company (PSC) Medved E1, called due to an alarm activation at a neighboring beer store where Nikolai had been earlier (he was drunk and loud, prompting staff to press a panic button), beat the handcuffed man.
They put a foot on Nikolai«s head and neck, choked him, and kicked the kneeling man in the face. They then took him to a back room and continued beating him until he lost consciousness.
«The neighboring store »Pivko« called the PSC and RRG. But by the time they arrived, my brother had already left, and there was no need for them. They entered Monetka, saw Nikolai, and started restraining and beating him. My brother asked to be let go. The store manager came out and asked them to stop the beating, but they didn»t listen to her.«
On the video, the guard in a green uniform and without a hat acts the most brutally — this is Vadim Timurshin from the security organization Medved E1. He is the only one currently charged under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code, «Intentional infliction of grave bodily harm resulting in death through negligence.» His colleague wearing a hat also delivers several blows, but his status in the case is still unknown. The guards are also charged with abuse of power.
The victim«s relatives believe this was an intentional group murder, directly involving four guards and indirectly involving two Rosgvardia officers (for not calling an ambulance in time).
Nikolai«s father wrote a complaint to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.
In the appeal, he writes that Nikolai«s clothes were soaked in blood and they continued to beat him even when he was helpless, which, in his opinion, indicates intentional murder.
«Everyone hit my son, but only one PSC employee is being held accountable,» says Ivan Viktorovich.
After several hours of abuse, they carried the unconscious man by his arms and legs and delivered him to Police Department No. 11.
They brought a corpse to the police
The Rosgvardia officers realized Nikolai was dead only at the station, after leading questions from the duty officer. The security forces attempted to resuscitate him, but unsuccessfully. We are publishing the body camera footage and transcripts of the dialogues.
Rosgvardia Officer 1 (R1). He«s out.
Rosgvardia Officer 2 (R2). He was a bit more active before. Two teams of guards were messing with him there.
Duty Officer (D.). Is he alive?
R2. Was alive. Don«t know now.
D. Alive?
R1. Hell if I know.
D. Are you guys joking or what?
R2. What, am I a doctor or something?
R1. I don«t get it. Be careful.
R2. Who the hell knows.
R1. Put him down (checks pulse). Wow, he«s messed up his whole tongue *** [damaged].
D. Alive?
R1. No.
D. Seriously, come on.
R1. Really no. Put him on the ground. Not like that.
Subsequently, Rosgvardia officers perform resuscitation efforts, but it was useless. The ambulance team that arrived pronounced him dead.
What is known about the main perpetrator
Vadim Timurshin is from Magnitogorsk, worked for the Yekaterinburg PSC Medved E1, and is a veteran of the war in Chechnya. He has a family and a young daughter. According to the investigation, it was he who delivered the blows to Nikolai that proved fatal. However, the guard had no intent to kill, and the reason for the attack was a sudden personal dislike.
The guard«s colleagues are convinced that the accused Vadim did nothing wrong. He didn»t want to kill Nikolai, but he did hit him.
«The man was doing his job, responded to a call about disorderly conduct. Gave him a couple of kicks, you don»t die from that. He handed him over to the RRG «Delta» officers. Pay attention to the man himself: picking at something, searching. A normal, sober person wouldn«t behave like that,» a colleague who wished to remain anonymous is convinced.
At the investigator«s request, the court arrested Vadim Timurshin.
«The Investigative Department for the Zheleznodorozhny District of Yekaterinburg is investigating a criminal case initiated under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grave bodily harm resulting in the victim»s death through negligence) and Part 2 of Article 203 of the Russian Criminal Code (excess of authority by a private security organization employee involving the use of violence and resulting in grave consequences). Investigators are ascertaining all circumstances of the incident without exception,« E1.RU was previously told by Alexander Shulga, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region.
Rosgvardia and the private security companies declined to comment.
«Why did they do this to my brother? He didn»t kill anyone, didn«t attack anyone, didn»t steal anything. And they beat him with batons, choked him, kicked him, stood a chair on him. It was a group murder in front of everyone. So many people were nearby — security forces and store employees. And everyone stood and watched as he was beaten to death. No one stopped it, no one called an ambulance while he was still breathing and could have been saved,« says the sister.
She intends to seek punishment for all those involved. The deceased 33-year-old Nikolai left behind a nine-year-old child. He was divorced from his wife and recently worked as a rigger.
