Husband kills wife near Ufa, then himself
The building where it happened carries on as usual, as if nothing occurred.
In the village of Zubovo near Ufa (Bashkortostan, Russia), a tragedy in a local family is on everyone’s lips: a husband brutally killed his wife and then took his own life. The bodies were found by a child. Neighbors say the couple did not stand out, while acquaintances say they had long been at odds. Behind them — more than a decade of marriage and two children who will now have to live without their parents. UFA1.RU visited Zubovo and learned details of the story.
Zubovo sits close to Ufa, right past the interchange on the Southern Bypass, before the airport. Despite its proximity to the main air gateway, the village is very quiet. In fact, it hardly feels like a village: the main part is a stretch of single-story brick houses. It looks more like a cottage settlement.
The family lived in the «Life Garden» microdistrict — a complex of multi-apartment new builds erected in the late 2010s out in open fields. That «open field» feeling remains — it is very quiet all around. No cars, no planes, not even trains. At first glance it is hard to imagine something like this happening here.
Overall, the surroundings appear orderly and well kept, with tidy courtyards and entrances.
Almira, 32 (name changed), had been married for more than a decade. She studied in Ufa and in 2016 graduated from Bashkir State Medical University (Bashkirsky gosudarstvenny meditsinsky universitet, BSMU) with a specialization in Pediatrics; three years later she completed correspondence studies at Bashkir State Agrarian University (Bashkirsky gosudarstvenny agrarny universitet, BSAU). In the meantime, she met a man and the couple married. Their first child was born in 2012, and seven years later — their second son.

While on maternity leave, Almira worked in a line of business popular in the 2010s — selling cosmetics from well-known brands. She kept at it until 2021. Then she changed focus and took up hairstyling and makeup. Along the way, she spent several years working as a sales clerk in a clothing store and in cleaning services.
The couple moved into the Life Garden complex in 2019, after its completion.
Judging by numerous photos, Almira was happy: always at the center of things, at celebrations, singing in Tatar, going out into nature with the children. Friends describe her as positive and easygoing, cheerful and warm — they still write to her on social networks.
«Positive, very kind, talented, sweet. Always open-hearted. You will remain in our memory like this forever», — wrote a friend of the deceased.
«Rest peacefully, our brightest ray of sunshine», — added another.
The family lived in a standard mid-rise residential building typical for the neighborhood.
Almira and her husband lived in a six-story building on Perina Street in Life Garden. Neighbors knew almost nothing about them, even though they had lived nearby for about six years.
«We didn’t communicate closely with them to be able to say much. As neighbors, we just said hello in the stairwell. They seemed like a normal family, and what went on inside, we had no idea. We didn’t know they were divorcing. So we have nothing to say. I saw the wife almost every day, but her husband rarely — he worked on rotational shifts. She was a normal girl, adequate, kind», — one neighbor told us.

Some didn’t even know anything had happened and heard about it for the first time from journalists.
Almira’s acquaintances told UFA1.RU that the couple’s rift began long ago, and the husband often grew jealous of someone. The woman went to file for divorce but later, for some reason, withdrew the application.
Neighbors learned of the incident from police or media; no one reported hearing any disturbance.
Exactly what happened on that ill-fated day remains under investigation, but UFA1.RU has learned some details. Some Telegram channels reported that the man was allegedly so jealous he returned from his shift early and hid in a closet, and when he was discovered — he argued and strangled his wife. However, as UFA1.RU learned, that is not quite so.
«He had long been not himself because of jealousy. First, he beat her black-and-blue; at the farewell they didn’t even open the coffin. The neighbors didn’t hear anything because it was the middle of the workday. The bodies were found by the older son; the younger at that time was with relatives», — our interlocutor explained.
After what happened, the husband took his own life. Sledkom — the Investigative Committee of Russia (SKR) — opened a criminal case and is also coalescing around this version: after the wife, he killed himself. If the investigators’ assumption is confirmed, the case will be closed because there is no one to charge.

Almira’s building is just 500 meters from a school combined with a kindergarten. Together they form the «Znanie» (Knowledge) Education Center.
The younger child attended the kindergarten connected to the local education center.
The facility is completely new and enormous: designed for 640 places, but about a thousand study there, and counting the kindergarten — about two thousand.
The center’s director, Pavel Derkach, declined detailed comment, noting that an investigation is underway.
«An ordinary family. Everything was normal. They were not on any monitoring lists or anywhere else. A normal family, good children, studying — the older in school, the younger in kindergarten. That’s all I can say», — the director told UFA1.RU.
Classroom doors stand open during lessons, as is customary at the facility.
He added that guardianship authorities have placed the children with their grandmother.
