FSB Neutralizes Stavropol Krai Man Plotting Attacks on Russian Military

In Stavropol Krai, security forces have thwarted the preparation of terrorist attacks against Russian military personnel. During an attempted arrest, the suspect offered armed resistance and was eliminated by return fire.
According to TASS citing the FSB Public Relations Center, the eliminated individual was a 43-year-old Russian citizen, a resident of Kislovodsk. He was identified during operational-search activities after a prevented terrorist attack in Stavropol in December 2025.
During the special operation, the man opened fire on officers of the special unit. As a result of return actions, he was neutralized. There were no casualties among law enforcement officers or civilians, emphasized the Public Relations Center of the agency.
At the site of the elimination, a Makarov pistol, an F-1 hand grenade, and a backpack with a homemade explosive device made from foreign-produced components were discovered.
According to security forces, this person had previously acted on the orders of Ukrainian special services. It was he, as claimed by the FSB, who planted the explosive device in a cache, which was later used by a terrorist caught red-handed — she attempted to mine a car near one of the military units of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The search for accomplices was conducted as part of a criminal case initiated under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 (attempted terrorist act), Part 4 of Article 222.1 (illegal storage of explosives and explosive devices), and Part 3 of Article 223.1 (illegal manufacture of explosives) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Separately, the agency noted: the previously eliminated man was also involved in drug trafficking in the territory of Stavropol Krai.
