A verdict was delivered in the Bogorodsky District against former deputy Stanislav Karagansky. He was found guilty of organizing illegal migration, according to the united press service of the courts of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Karagansky was detained last spring. The investigation found that from November 2023 to April 2025, he illegally settled several foreigners at his poultry farm in the village of Arapovo. They did not have documents for migration registration, and their permitted stay in the country had expired.
The ex-deputy did not admit his guilt. The court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment suspended and imposed a fine of 100,000 rubles (approximately $1,100 at current rates). As for the illegal migrants, they were previously fined from 4,000 to 30,000 rubles (approximately $44 to $333) and deported from the country.
