Entrepreneur detained for attempting to bribe Magnit top manager
In Volgograd, individual entrepreneur Pavel Perevyazkin and his acquaintance Alexey Maksimchenko have been detained. They are suspected of offering a commercial bribe and aiding in its delivery.
«According to the investigation, in 2024–2025, contracts were signed between a joint-stock company operating in the retail trade sector and a commercial organization for construction, installation, and finishing work at a distribution center, totaling over three million rubles (approximately $33,300 at current rates). The actual execution of these works was carried out by an individual entrepreneur engaged as a subcontractor,» said Natalia Rudnik, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region for media relations. «During an official verification of the volumes of work performed against the terms of the concluded contracts, employees of the security service of the joint-stock company identified instances of overestimation of cost and volumes of work performed.»
To «resolve issues,» the entrepreneur decided to «thank» the person responsible for signing work acceptance certificates. To carry out the criminal intent, the entrepreneur involved his acquaintance, who agreed to act as an intermediary.
«Understanding the illegal nature of what was happening, the representative of the joint-stock company reported the fact of being induced to receive a commercial bribe to law enforcement agencies,» clarified Rudnik. «During the transfer of funds amounting to 400,000 rubles (approximately $4,400 at current rates), intended as a commercial bribe for illegal inaction, the suspects» actions were documented by operatives from the economic security and anti-corruption department of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.«
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region clarified that the money was intended for the head of the security service of the trading corporation, but he refused to take the money and reported the «offer» to the police.
It is known that the businessman who decided on the commercial bribe was individual entrepreneur Pavel Perevyazkin, and his acquaintance who agreed to deliver the money was Alexey Maksimchenko. The facility where the entrepreneur worked is the Yerzovka distribution center of AO Tander.
The court has already granted the investigator«s request for the arrest of the suspects.
