In Volgograd, law enforcement officers detained individual entrepreneur Pavel Perevyazkin and his acquaintance Alexei Maksimchenko. They are charged with giving commercial bribery and aiding in this crime.

As reported by Natalia Rudnik, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region, in 2024–2025, contracts were concluded between a trading company and a contractor for construction and finishing work for a distribution center. The total contract amount exceeded three million rubles (approximately $40,000 at current rates).

The actual executor was the entrepreneur, engaged as a subcontractor.

«During an official audit, a security service employee uncovered facts of overstating the cost and volume of work performed,» Rudnik explained.

To settle the issue of work acceptance, the entrepreneur decided to «thank» the responsible person. To transfer the money, he enlisted an intermediary – his acquaintance.

However, the company employee, understanding the illegality of the offer, contacted the police. During the transfer of 400,000 rubles (approximately $5,300 at current rates), intended as a bribe for inaction, the detention was recorded by operatives of the economic security department of the regional head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region clarified that the intended recipient of the bribe was to be the head of the security service of the trading corporation. It was he who refused the money and reported the bribery attempt.

The work was carried out at the Yerzovka distribution center, owned by JSC Tander (the managing company of the Magnit retail chain). The court has already chosen a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention for both suspects.
