Barnaul Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Raping and Torturing Daughters

A court in Barnaul has sentenced a local resident to long-term imprisonment for torturing his minor daughters. The man was found guilty under several articles of the Russian Criminal Code, including rape, sexual violence, and failure to perform parental duties, according to the Investigative Committee for the Altai Krai.
According to investigation and court data, the convicted man lived with his wife for over 18 years and was raising six children. For a long time, he subjected his elder daughters, born in 2007 and 2009, to violence. From 2022 to 2024, he raped his daughters and threatened to harm their mother if they told anyone about what was happening.
The girls decided to report that the man had committed violent acts against them only after two years. Considering the gathered evidence, the court sentenced the rapist to 20 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict-regime colony.
In addition, the convicted man was ordered to pay 300 thousand rubles (approximately $3,300 at current rates) in moral damages to each of the victim daughters. The sentence has come into force.
