In Sochi, a 15-year-old teenager asked an 18-year-old local resident to buy him a vape and an energy drink. The latter agreed, and then decided to profit from it. The guy told the schoolboy that due to the purchase, he had problems. And if he didn«t pay him, he would tell everything to his parents and the police. Over a month, the teenager gave the fraudster more than 240,000 rubles (approximately $2,400 at current rates) in cash and transferred another 100,000 rubles (approximately $1,000 at current rates) from his mother»s card.

With this money, the perpetrator vacationed in Krasnaya Polyana and rented accommodation for himself. The easy earnings ended when the parents discovered the loss of their savings.

Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Central District police department quickly identified and detained the suspect. At the time of detention, he had only 1,500 rubles (approximately $15 at current rates) left.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (fraud). The blackmailer faces up to 6 years in a penal colony. Police held a preventive conversation with the teenager about the harm of energy drinks and electronic smoking devices, according to the press service of the Sochi Department of Internal Affairs.
