18-year-old girl charged in kidnapping and theft from businessman
An 18-year-old girl from Surgut, who stole money and «kidnapped» the son of Krasnoyarsk businessman Andrei Kapla, has been charged. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the federal Investigative Committee.
It is specified that the girl has been charged with fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on an especially large scale. She faces up to 10 years in prison.
According to the investigation, in January 2026, the accused conspired with fraudsters. Recall that the girl believed she was training at a special services school. On the instructions of the scammers, the Surgut native was to come to Krasnoyarsk, take the money there, and then hand it over to a courier.
Therefore, on January 22, the girl flew to Krasnoyarsk, went to the house of a teenager — the son of Krasnoyarsk businessman Nikolai Kapla. There, together, they broke into four safes, from which they took more than 2.5 million rubles (about $27,800 at current rates).
In the evening of the same day, the Surgut native handed over the money to a courier near the «Sever» restaurant on Lenina Street in Krasnoyarsk. But not all of it; she kept 31,000 rubles (about $340) for herself. After that, both the girl and the teenager went to a rented apartment on Krasnoyarsky Rabochy Avenue, where they awaited further instructions.
The teenager himself was also under the influence of fraudsters; first, they threatened to hack his Gosuslugi (the state services portal) account, then threatened the reputation of his older brother and father.
“They said that the reputation would definitely suffer, it would affect my brother, that he would be expelled,” the teenager says in an operational video.
The investigation continues to carry out operational-search activities and is also collecting and securing the evidence base. Not long ago, the defense of the 18-year-old girl decided to appeal her arrest.
