Keksik lives with Oksana Koshkina in Yaroslavl, illustrating the everyday realities of mini pig care.
Getting a pet — a serious commitment that takes careful preparation. Oksana Koshkina from Yaroslavl, Russia, spent nearly ten years deciding, because this companion is anything but ordinary.
For five months now, a mini pig named Keksik has been living with the Yaroslavl woman. She bought the piglet in Saint Petersburg for 15,000 rubles ($160 at current rates). According to Oksana, caring for a pig is not as difficult as it seems.
As Oksana notes, Keksik has a complicated temperament. The piglet gets jealous of his owner and constantly demands attention, prodding her leg with his snout. Even so, the pig is very affectionate and likes physical contact. We published the story of how the pet came to the young woman in this piece.
