Volunteers in Novosibirsk euthanize dog with severe jaw injury
The dog was severely emaciated.
At a dump near Gusinobrodskoye Highway, where volunteers from the shelter «Ushastiki.Zhivi» feed homeless animals daily, a dog with torn jaw and tongue was found.
According to shelter volunteer Yulia, it seemed that his jaw was split with an axe. The dog«s wounds were old with a smell of decay. The animal had been suffering for several days and was emaciated.
«We came to feed the dogs in the morning and found him. We don»t know how he got there, we hadn«t seen him before. There are hundreds of dogs, but we remember and know them all, we feed them every day, sterilize them and care for them,» the volunteer said.
The dog was safely extracted from a pipe and taken to a clinic. There, it was decided to euthanize him. According to veterinarians, the dog had no chance of life.
Yulia noted that they have to deal with similar cases regularly. The volunteers did not file a report with the police.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region told NGS that the information is being clarified.
