City residents are worried about the fate of fattened and lazy ducklings that have taken over the park on 8th Air Army Street in the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd. Local residents fear that in such frost, the birds might die, even though they are constantly fed. However, judging by the footage, these somewhat cheeky, well-fed feathered creatures feel great, though they move with difficulty.

«SOS! The ducks are freezing in the park on 8th Air Army. People feed them, but it«s very cold, they are lying on the snow, not even getting up, there are many of them. How to help the ducklings in such cold? They should make temporary houses or at least spread hay under the fir trees,» worry readers of V1.RU, who sent photos to the editorial office.

Additional images reveal the large number of ducks in the park during the freeze.

However, there is no need to worry. The ducklings settled in the park back in 2022. There, they share the territory with sparrows, pigeons, and crows, and they are not bored at all. Concerned citizens actively feed them, some even with bread, which is strictly prohibited. Experts advise treating them either with purchased feed or with vegetables and fruits: apples, carrots, cabbage.

«Feeding birds is possible. But not with bread! It is yeasty and fraught with obesity. Moreover, its consumption by birds can lead to souring in the intestines, undermining the bird«s health and even affecting digestion. If you want to feed them — you can buy any bird feed in a pet store. Or treat them with vegetables — only you need to chop them finely or grate them in advance,» told V1.RU clergyman Father Vasilisk, who is engaged in rescuing animals and birds.
