Tyumen resident runs over dog in Niva, animal euthanized
In the Druzhba garage cooperative in Zareka near Lake Alebashevo, Tyumen, Russia, a driver sped up and ran over one dog, nearly hitting another. This happened on January 19.
Information about this was published on the website and social media of Car72. A video is attached — be cautious, as it contains very brutal footage. The video shows the driver accelerating and running over the dog. Afterwards, the animal suffers, its hind legs are unresponsive, and they are convulsing.
As the community administrator later reported, attempts were made to save the animal, but the injuries were too severe — the dog«s pelvis was crushed. It was euthanized.
After the video, Tyumen animal rights activists demanded to find the driver, especially since his license plate — Н744СС72 — was captured by a camera. Several messages from concerned Tyumen residents also came to our editorial office.
«Eyewitnesses and animal rights activists believe that the driver»s actions show signs of animal cruelty, which falls under Article 245 of the Russian Criminal Code. We ask law enforcement agencies to provide a legal assessment of the incident, as well as to establish the driver«s identity and investigate the circumstances of the incident,» wrote a 72.RU reader who shared the video.
The editorial team has requested a comment from the Tyumen police press service. A response is awaited.
This is not the first case of animal cruelty in recent days. Previously, we reported that a Tyumen resident killed a dog and threw its body in a dump. The information, published by city residents, is currently being checked by police.
