St. Petersburg Vets Save Bear Misha from Chronic Rhinitis

The bear from the Dino shelter has returned to Volgograd and is doing reasonably well after surgery.
Veterinary doctors at the Complex Case Clinic in St. Petersburg performed the first surgery on a bear named Misha from the Volgograd shelter «Dino». They are trying to cure the runny nose that has plagued him his entire life.
“Throughout his life, Misha has been bothered by thick green nasal discharge. In Volgograd, a trial empirical therapy was already conducted, which did not yield results, so the bear was brought to our clinic for computed tomography and treatment,” the clinic said. “Based on the results of computed tomography with non-selective angiography, chronic rhinitis with destruction of the nasal labyrinth, frontal sinusitis, sphenoiditis, and middle ear otitis were detected.”
The patient underwent frontotomy to clean the frontal sinuses, rhinoscopy, and video otoscopy, biological samples were taken for diagnosis, and treatment was prescribed. Misha has returned to Volgograd. At home, he will await the results of the biopsy and the choice of further treatment tactics.
The «Dino» shelter clarified that the bear still has a runny nose, and it is also unclear whether the bear has gone into hibernation or is running around.
