Perm seeks home for cat who broke crate and hid under ceiling
Murka stirred up trouble in the shelter during her first days but has since settled down.
In Perm, they are looking for a home for a three-colored cat named Murka, a «fussologist». One day, she broke her crate and hid from shelter staff under the ceiling for several days. The «Happy Tail» shelter shared the story of their restless charge.
Daria Kosulina, the owner of the «Happy Tail» shelter, told a journalist from 59.RU that the cat Murka was brought to them on 2 September. She had been a domestic cat all her life: she lived with an elderly man along with another cat. Nothing is known about its fate, or about why the man decided to give up Murka. The guest was placed in an upper crate under the ceiling. In the first days at «Happy Tail», the cat went into shock, pushed up a stove with her head, climbed under the ceiling, and fell behind the wall. The ceiling has now been repaired, but at that time the cat caused the shelter a lot of trouble.
«We tried to lure her out for several days until we gathered in a large group. We pulled her out of her hiding place long and painfully, and finally got her,» Daria told 59.RU. «After that, everyone, including Murka, was happy. Gradually, she settled in, began actively asking for a packet of wet food and meowing to be let out of the crate. We wanted to place her in the living room, where there are more people and fewer cats, but she chose the common room herself.»
Murka is seven years old. She is quite affectionate and can live alone or with other cats. Murka has no special features or health problems, she is spayed and vaccinated. The cat likes dry food and uses a litter box with wood filler.
«Do you appreciate calico cats? Do you have strong nerves? Is your hair free of gray? Then take Murka,» they joke at the shelter.
