Pallas's Cat Boris Hides, Sparks Concern in Krasnoyarsk

A message from a Krasnoyarsk resident concerned about the lack of information on social media about the Pallas«s cat Boris from »Royev Ruchey« was received by the editorial office of NGS24.RU.
«Good day. I just want to point out that there haven»t been any new photos or news about the Pallas«s cat Boris for a scarily long time,» wrote a user with the nickname Valentin.
We found out how the wild cat is doing. Currently, the Pallas«s cat Boris is living »normally,« but is not actively seeking contact. He often spends time in his house.
«In the evening and early morning, at dusk, he is active. He behaves the same way all Pallas»s cats behave in the wild. It takes a lot of effort to see a live Pallas«s cat in the wild. First, they hide; second, they have very good camouflage. Well, and he himself is such a loner,» Oleg Chipura, press secretary of the Royev Ruchey flora and fauna park, told NGS24.RU.
The Pallas«s cat has already started to lose weight, but for now, the park staff do not plan to weigh him. The »shedding of fat« should be completely over by spring. Currently, Pallas»s cat Boris still eats 400 grams of meat per day, and he is fed around 4:00 PM.
«Usually somewhere after four, when dusk sets in, he comes out and eats. Well, and so, to have it fresh, we give it at four o»clock. When [Boris] gained the necessary weight, his activity decreased, he switched, so to speak, to an energy-saving mode,« Chipura clarified.
The necessary weight that Boris should return to is about five kilograms. However, Oleg Chipura notes that there haven«t been Pallas»s cats in the Royev Ruchey flora and fauna park for a long time, so they will focus not on weight, but on his physical condition.
By the way, as Oleg Chipura said earlier, in January the Pallas«s cat should lose weight and reduce its undercoat — this is preparation for the warm season.
Previously, NGS24.RU published a detailed report on the life of Pallas«s cat Boris in the Royev Ruchey flora and fauna park. In it, we told what Boris eats and how they try to weigh him.
