Odd peacock dances at Omsk zoo mating season

At the Omsk Ecological Center, located on Zhukov Street, the peacock mating season has begun — a time when males display their beauty. The birds perform strange dances and spread their luxurious tails.

On the organization«s official VKontakte page, a video was published showing two members of the pheasant family circling in front of a female. However, so far, the female remains completely indifferent to the males» efforts — she calmly watches the dances and shows no interest.

«The uniqueness of peacock courtship is that the male displays all the splendor of his plumage not to the female. He shows the whole world how magnificent his train is, but to the female, he tends to turn his dull back,» zoo workers said.
