Niva Driver Runs Over Dog in Tyumen

Veterinary efforts to save the dog were unsuccessful due to the severity of its injuries.
On January 19, at the «Druzhba» garage cooperative located in Zareka near Lake Alebashevo, a motorist at high speed ran over a dog and nearly hit a second one.
The video footage shows the driver intentionally accelerating and running over the dog, depicting animal cruelty.
Video from the scene was published on the Car72 portal and on social networks. The footage contains shocking scenes: the driver deliberately accelerates and runs over the dog. After the impact, the animal suffered for a long time, its hind legs failed, and it began having convulsions.
Later, the administrator of the Car72 community reported that attempts were made to save the animal, but the injuries were incompatible with life — the dog«s pelvis was shattered. It had to be euthanized.
After the video was published, animal rights activists demanded that the culprit be found, especially since cameras captured his car«s license plate — H744SS72. Several Tyumen residents also sent appeals to the editorial office.
Witnesses and animal rights activists believe that the driver«s actions show signs of cruelty to animals, which falls under Article 245 of the Russian Criminal Code. We ask law enforcement agencies to provide a legal assessment of what happened, as well as to establish the driver»s identity and check the circumstances of the incident, said one of the readers who provided the video.
A request for comment on this incident has been sent to the Tyumen police press service. A response from law enforcement agencies has not yet been received.
This case occurred following another incident of animal cruelty. Recently in Tyumen, a man killed a dog and threw its body on a garbage dump. Police are conducting an investigation into this matter.
