The moose rescued in the Yaroslavl region (nicknamed October) will be sent to the rehabilitation center «Bely Los» (White Moose) in the Moscow region. The regional Ministry of Forestry and Natural Resources reported this to the 76.RU portal on January 29.

«We are currently preparing documents for the moose»s transport. In the rehabilitation center, it will receive constant care from specialists,« explained the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Recall that the injured moose was found by residents of the village of Oktyabr in the Nekouz district. The animal fell through the ice in a pond near the settlement. The moose was pulled out, but it turned out that the animal cannot walk.

Concerned people made a bedding of hay for the moose, covered it with blankets, and brought food and water. For several days, the moose lay near the village.

People appealed to various authorities to get help for the animal. As a result, hunting inspectors and veterinary service specialists joined in solving the problem. They examined the animal. Its condition was assessed as stable. It was decided to move the moose to the forest, as according to veterinarians, due to its stay near the settlement, the moose is experiencing chronic stress, which hinders its recovery.

«At the moment, supervision has been organized for the moose. The food supply is being updated. Yesterday, a veterinary service employee injected vitamins, glucose, painkillers, and antibiotics,» said the Ministry of Natural Resources.

However, concerned people did not want to leave the moose, which cannot walk, in the forest. A fundraiser was organized for transporting the animal to the Moscow region and accompanying the moose with a veterinarian.
